Friday Fun: Fertility Edition

(Image Source: the talented courtneymprivett on Instagram, her blog is here. So creative!)

Hooray! We made it to Friday! Since it’s National Infertility Awareness week I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds from throughout the week to entertain you that are related to this topic (and a few that aren’t 🙂 because I can’t forget to mention the funnies).

This is a wonderfully written article on normalizing infertility.

Many people don’t realize that the need to use donor eggs in some IVF cycles is a very real and necessary thing for some couples. This article gives insight what it’s like to go through that process.

For those of us going through infertility we know it’s an overwhelming process. This article talks about creating rituals to incorporate into your daily life to optimize fertility and make it a tiny bit less overwhelming.

Smiling really can help you get through the hard times, especially infertility, and this article articulates why so well.

If you only click on one of these links you should check this out.  Scientists have created an artificial reproductive system that looks more like a computer part that is allowing them to start studying the concept of indivdualized medicine so that possibly in the near-ish future IVF patients (and those struggling with other diseases) could avoid the trial-and-error part of the process and just skip to the drugs that will certainly respond to their body. It’s facinating stuff!

And I lied, you should also really check out this link. Scientists have created an artificial womb that has succesfully grown lambs to full term outside of their mother’s womb. This could be a HUGE breakthrough for babies that are born prematurely giving them a chance at life. The science this week is blowing my mind!!

Lastly, this post on how to support a friend going through infertility because it’s hard to know what to do from the outside looking in.

And as promised, the encore of funnies…

First of all did everyone see the ridiculously expensive IKEA dupe bag from Balenciaga?? IKEA had a great response on how to identify the original from the fake here.

These tweets commenting on the “budgets” of HGTV’s “Househunter’s” home buyers are just too good not to share.

“Mean Girl’s” is being made into a musical?? That’s so fetch.

I am a sucker for puns and dogs and apparently 12-yr-old humor. Please tell me you are too!
And that’s a wrap! Have a lovely weekend ya’ll!!
