The Sunday Scoop #18

Just checking in to say happy Sunday with a few reads to keep you feeling sunny. I feel like so much of the news lately is negative so I decided to just include positive and helpful reads this weekend. I know that the negative news is important but I for one need a break from processing it sometimes and things like chickens in tutus (see link below) takes my mind off of it pretty well. In fact it puts my mind on planning how I could get myself a chicken and where it would live, what it’s name would be, how to make a tutu the right size and if we have room to make a chicken tutu closet?!?! All very important, rational and practical things. But really, don’t tell me your mind doesn’t wander a bit after seeing those chickens lol. If you want to skip straight to the chickens it’s in the last section at the bottom. 😉

First Things First

  • A great idea: The city of Muncie, Indiana allows residents the option of paying parking tickets with cat food for the animal shelters.

Life Things

  • A novel idea: The best way to practice self care is to care less.
  • These tweets about going to therapy had me cracking up. V relatable.

Green Things & Health

On Motherhood

  • World breastfeeding week was last week and so it felt appropriate to share these beautiful images of breastfeeding mothers.
  • This real life vs. insta life video of a mom wrangling a stroller had me giggling so hard.

Pure Fun & Inspiration

  • The sweetest: Boy makes bow ties for shelter dogs to help them get adopted.
  • This is literally the future for my daughter and dog. I would bet money on it lol.
  • And a little goat that’s anxiety is reduced by wearing a duck costume.
  • These tweets about the English language had me lol-ing. There are some very valid points.
  • They say that babies and toddlers are like tiny drunk people
  • This duck mom is the epitome of super mom.
  • Apparently when goats are being naughty they get pool noodles put on their horns. #safetyfirst
  • And what you’re all here for: Chickens in Tutus.

And that’s all for now. Enjoy the sunny weather if you’re having it too!
