Goddess Provisions Box: February

We’re here in midst of the back half of winter and just about now is when the grumpiness over the season sets in. The holidays are long gone, the snow you were hoping would never come came in twice as hard, you’re bundled up so much you can hardly move, everything is dry and creaky and you’ve just about had it. This is when you need reminding of what’s to come. It’s hard to remember that mother nature will wake up in the spring, but she does, like magic! The February Goddess Provisions box is that reminder with the theme of “Faerie Magic”. That’s why I love getting this box so much; it’s a bright spot in otherwise dreary times. The products included hint at spring and are a reminder to always search out that magic that makes life so full. Read on for a quick review of the items included:

Cottagewicks Candle: Faerie Magic
This is a small batch, hand poured soy candle scented with Lavender essential oil. It has a few bonus crystals that can be removed once the candle is burned. It’s topped with Turquonite (a calming stone to bring inner peace), Stawberry Quartz (used for balance, calming and amplification of love and gratitude), roses & lavender (promotes love) and chamomile (associated with luck and purification).
First Impressions: I think this would be a great burn for during a yoga practice or meditation if you’re into that.

Pacifica: Rainbow Crystals Highlighter
This highlighter is a bright white/silver color, like faerie dust. It has an easy wand applicator and can be applied to eyes, cheekbones or collarbone. It has a light scent that smells maybe a bit vanilla-y. It seems to both, blend in pretty evenly and stay put.
First Impressions: I don’t use highlighters that often but I’d give this one a try on my cheekbones.

Element Botanicals: Faerie Garden Bath Salts
This is a bright mix of mineral and sea salts with botanicals (I see rose petals and lavender buds and maybe some chamomile?) that’s scented with lavender and rosewood essential oils and is perfect for a relaxing bath.
First Impressions: I don’t remember the last time I took a bath so I’ll be using this for a foot bath to wake up my tired feet, that’s my favorite way to use bath salts.

Biolumenessence: EnchantedForest Faerie Synergy Flower Essence
A vibrational blend of flower essences including, purple crown vetch, st. john’s wort red clover and deptford pinks (among others), combine for use when you need an energy shift or to awaken your wonder. It’s said to aid in connecting with the earth’s energy, tuning into your emotional body, cultivating a sense of magic and authentically speaking from the heart. The directions say you can take 3-4 drops under the tongue 3-4 times per day, add to a beverage, apply to wrists/temples/chakras or put a few drops into lotion or an oil diffuser.
First Impressions: It doesn’t have much of a scent so I think using it topically would be purposeful when combining with meditation. The taste is very subtle and a tiny bit sweet so I guess I’d try adding this to a beverage for the essence benefits.

Superfeast Mushroom Blend
A blend of 8 medicinal mushrooms said to boost your immune system and restore gut health. Medicinal mushrooms are adaptogenic herbs meaning that they work to adapt your body to stress as well as balance hormones. This blend can be added to teas, smoothies, juices or other beverages.
First Impressions: I just really don’t like mushrooms so I have to ponder this one a bit. I like the sounds of the benefits, so we’ll see.

Lisa Junius Pin
A sweet faerie pin for adding a bit of magic to your attire.
First Impressions: This would be cute on a denim jacket but I have a strictly curated selection already on mine so I’ll have to find a different home for it.

Rose Quartz
Rose quartz is called the heart stone. The vibration of this stone is of love and emotional healing so it’s good to use when you want to increase your love or for when your heart might be in pain. It’s a mothering crystal and is said to inspire nurturing with your inner self or those around you.
First Impressions: Rose quartz is one of my faves to use for a mantra stone as it’s said to help dissolve fears and up your love aura.

Speaking of mantras, the months mantra for pondering is: “Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it” –Roald Dahl

Let me know, what magic are you searching for??
