The Sunday Scoop #13

Happy Sunday friends! I’ve got a very important first order of business today: I have a *GIVEAWAY* happening on Instagram right now that goes until Tuesday so you should check it out and enter and tell your friends to enter too! Yay for giveaways!!

Anywho (vote: are you a fan of this word or no?), It seems like it was just a few days ago that I wrote up a Sunday Scoop post (likely because I posted this on Tuesday last week, whoops!).  Since it hasn’t been that long I don’t have a ton to share in terms of links or even personal happenings today. I will say it was a rather news worthy week (but I guess what week isn’t?).  Celebrity news, like that of Kate Spade & Anthony Bourdain, is always shocking and sad but is a reminder that you can never make assumptions about another person’s life. I’ve got a great discussion article on that below as well as some lighter news too.  Read on!

First Things First

  • Women won state primaries in record numbers this week. Of the 92 women who participated in Tuesday’s eight primaries, at least 36 of them won spots on ballots. Woo! Go ladies!
  • This week was a sad week in the world of celebrity news, but enlightening in the world of mental health. This blog post discusses both so eloquently.

Life Things

  • Always talking anxious minds around these parts: 12 Ancient Techniques to Quiet Your Mind.
  • Need some entertainment in the form of podcasts? One of my fave bloggers Joy the Baker put together a great list of pods to get you through the summer.

Green Things & Health

  • A restaurant chain in the Netherlands uses food sources that are entirely made from food waste (sourced from grocery stores clearing shelves), ugly produce, and things like day old bread (which is perfect for French Toast they say).

On Infertility & Motherhood & Being a Woman

  • A look at how infertility affects women’s careers from three women’s perspectives.
  • Do religion and fertility treatment mix? From the Washington Post comes a moral discussion about how religion is coming to terms with modern fertility treatments.

Pure Fun & Inspiration

  • How is it that the Sex & The City premier was 20 years ago this past week? Love this look at the 90’s fashions the gals wore to the premier.
  • Target launched a collab collection with the museum of Ice Cream this week. My question is, why are there no adult items? I mean, it’s not just children that want to wear sprinkle shirts.

Share if you’ve ran across something interesting this week, I love learning new things! Have a good rest of your Sunday and a great start to your week tomorrow! Ciao for now!
