December Subscription Box Favorites

December subscription box favorites

Well, as usual, December was a whirlwind of a month! Between the holidays, my two year old’s birthday and just regular life stuff, it flew by in a blink. I wanted to share more of the subscription boxes I received, but there was just no time! Don’t worry though, I’ve still rounded up my favorites from each I reviewed for last month for my regular recap.

It’s so fun to get subscription boxes in December because they are like little presents to yourself, especially if you don’t look at any spoilers so that all the contents are a complete surprise. I always feel like the boxes are little gifts, but last month’s deliveries really were extra special. I mean, just read on to see a handful of the awesome items sent – SO good!

As usual, I’ve picked an item to highlight from each subscription box review I’ve done in the last month so you can get a taste for what comes in each. Be sure to click the link to get the full box reviews so you can get the full box details too! Many are linked over to A Year of Boxes where you can find discount codes and more if you’re interested in subscribing.

Lenus Marula Face Oil Serum
From Nourish Beauty Box (full box review here):
Lēnus No.91 Marula Face Oil Serum ($34)

“A lightweight, luxurious, regenerative blend of rare oils selected for their extraordinary anti-aging properties. This exotic botanical oil blend provides a nutrient-rich boost to your healthy skin routine.”

This brand has also been featured before and the products included have been favorites so it’s fun to find another of of their items this month. This serum smells so lovely (like all of their products do!) – it’s a little bit warm floral and a little bit cool herbal, made with frankincense, neroli, cypress and chamomile essential oils. This says it’s a hydrating serum for all face types so it’s perfect for the dry winter months ahead.

 Bath soak
From Crunchy Mama Box (full box review here):
Roots Essential Immunity Bath Soak

“Our products contain only 100% Pure and Natural Grade Essential Oils and Rich Plant Base Ingredients, sourced specifically for quality and Earth friendliness! Free from Animal cruelty, Artificial Color, Formaldehyde, Parabens, Petroluem, Synthetic Fragrances, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and GMO.”

This soak sounds so nice and calming bath is really needed right now so this is great. Plus, anything that’s said to help with immunity couldn’t be any perfect for the season either. This soak smells really crisp and refreshing as it’s made with cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, rosemary and lemon. It smells like an herbal-mint almost. I can’t wait to try this one out.

Ear warmer headband
Another from Crunchy Mama Box because I couldn’t only pick one:
Andes Gifts Handmade Wool Head Warmer

“Our goal is to create long-term dependable employment opportunities for indigenous artisans in Peru and Bolivia, and to connect thoughtful consumers with the people and ancient cultural traditions behind our products. Andes Gifts was founded on the principle of bringing sustainable employment opportunities to artisans living in rural communities throughout Peru and Bolivia. We believe in the principles of the Fair Trade Federation, and preserving the traditional knitting techniques of the Andes Mountains.”

I love this ear warmer! It’s so soft and cozy. It’s lined with fleece so it’s double warm. Plus I absolutely love this color, it’s one of my faves. I’m not sure if there were other color options, but if there were I’m super glad I got this one. I really dislike the cold, but I look forward to wearing this on the blustery days.

understanding auras book
From Goddess Provisions Box (full box review here):
Zenned Out’s ‘Guide To Understanding Auras ($12)

“This handy guidebook will help you learn to see, read and protect your aura so you can feel more vibrant and in tune with your needs and the needs of others.”

I love this tiny little book! It has information on what auras are, what your aura is, how to cleanse auras, how to protect your aura, and how to do aura readings. Lots of info packed in this little book. I’m curious to learn more about auras so this will be a great starting point. I can’t wait to find out which my aura is!

obsidian facial massaging roller
From Vegancuts Beauty Box (full box review here):
Vegancuts Designed Obsidian Stone Massaging Roller

I love this item! I have another facial roller, but not one made of obsidian so this is great. Facial rollers are so soothing to the skin and are a gentle way to ease inflammation so it’s nice to use after washing your face and applying products. Obsidian is a protective stone that blocks negativity so that makes it great for incorporating into a mindful self-love skincare routine.

tea sampler pack
From Vegancuts Snack Box (full box review here):
OffBlak – Tea Sampler with 3 flavors

“Healthy lifestyle teas – with style.”

This tea caught my eye right away when I opened the package. Not only does it have really bright and fun packing, but the flavors sound so delicious too. It’s a sampler of 3 flavors including: a fruit tea with forest fruits and ginger, an herbal tea with cranberry and cinnamon, and a black tea with mint and chocolate. I love trying new teas so I can’t wait to brew up a cup of each of these!

earth harbor glow juice enzyme mask
From Kinder Beauty (full box review here):
Earth Harbor: Glow Juice Refining Enzyme Mask ($40)

“A purple paradise, this powerful fast-acting gel mask naturally resurfaces, cools, and firms your skin with red seaweed, fruit enzymes, white willow bark, and aloe leaf juice to reveal greater clarity, the look of improved skin texture and tone, and a more youthful glow-all without irritating your skin. Glow Juice doubles as a leave-on spot treatment. This is the product for you if you’re looking to calm, soothe, and rebalance your skin.”

I’m so excited about this item! I’ve received a handful of other Earth Harbor products from subscription boxes, but never this mask and I’ve always had my eye on trying it. It’s a unique mask in that it’s more like an aloe/jelly texture that smells bright and citrus-y. It’s a quick mask that you only leave on 3 or so minutes too. That couldn’t be more easy and it sounds so refreshing. Plus, look at that pretty purple color! So fun!

hibar shampoo bar
From GreenUp Box (full box review here):
HIBAR Salon Shampoo Bar ($13.95)

“Say hello to your new favorite shampoo, in a bar. Plastic shampoo bottles will be a thing of the past! With coconut oil and rice protein to hydrate and nourish. 100% safe for colored or treated hair. No plastic. No sulfates, parabens, silicone, phthalates, and no cruelty. Vegan.”

I have always wanted to try this shampoo bar but just hadn’t yet, so it’s great to find in this month’s box! This one is the moisturizing version which is perfect for the dry winter spell we’re in right now. My hair gets easily dry so it can use all the moisture help it can get. I like the palm holding shape this soap has as it looks easy to apply to hair and it smells really nice too – a light citrus from the lime, orange, lemon, grapefruit and ginger oils included. Of course, the best part about it is that it’s plastic free and makes for a great travel companion too since it’s not a liquid shampoo.

cbd massage cube
From Earthlove (full box review here):
Koa+Roy CBD Massage Cube ($55)

“Now this is a special cube! Handcrafted with nine different organic, all-natural oils and butters and infused with a hemp isolate, this solid cube delivers the most relaxing and luxurious massage to aching muscles or areas that need a little TLC. We love how it glides smoothly and can feel tension just melt away after a long day on the farm! The cube comes in a plastic-free compostable hemp box (including the plant-based stickers!).”

I saw this item in the spoilers before the box arrived and I was so intrigued and excited to try it out. This product is such a cool concept and has really innovative packaging. I love that it’s completely plastic free and that the product is just part of the packaging – or I guess what I’m trying to say is that there is no excess packaging other than what is holding the massage cube. You just take the lid off, hold the base and rub the cube directly on skin. It smells so good – it’s like a refreshing and grounding herbal tea with a hint of citrus. I have tons of achey random body pains so I cannot wait to try this one out! I’m hopeful it brings some relief.

splendid spoon digestion wellness shot
From Splendid Spoon (full box review here):
Digestion Shot

“A digestive tonic to soothe inflammation and promote gut health.TURMERIC – Nature’s best anti-inflammatory; GINGER – Boosts immune system and fights inflammation; and APPLE CIDER VINEGAR – Increases immunity.”

The ingredient list includes: Apple Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar, Ginger Juice, Turmeric, Cayenne Pepper

This is their newest wellness shot product and I’m excited it came in this month’s box. I’ve been working on healing my digestive health so this is perfect timing to try it out.  At first opening it, it definitely smells of vinegar and seems like it might be potent. However, the flavor is milder than expected, although still on the intense side. There is noticeable heat from the cayenne, but it wasn’t too hot for me. It definitely has a kick and a warming sensation. The heat moves to throat and then you can almost feel it going to belly. It slightly lingers in the mouth, but not for long at all. Because of the flavor combo you might think it would be hard to drink and taking it as a shot like intended would be preferable, but it was actually sippable too. The flavors are balanced well and I actually really like this. I would order this again for sure.
