Seven Things Sunday – vol. 3

Happy New Year friends! I’m here with the first 7 Things Sunday of 2020! I hope you all had a nice holiday and are adjusting well to the new decade. The holidays were nuts for me with traveling, celebrating, planning and throwing a 1 year old birthday party. I’m pooped to say the least. So I’ve been taking it as easy as possible since. I did get the Christmas decorations put away, but the baby’s party decor? Ya, that might (will) be up for a few more weeks. I always get sad when the decorations get put away so I’m not mad about them staying up for a bit longer. In the meantime I’ll be kicking my feet up for the remainder of the weekend (haha that’s a joke, I have a wandering 1 year old now) and resting as much as I can.

Here’s this weeks 7:

1 – Recipe I want to try

My sister recently made this Creamy Potato Leek Soup with Bacon soup and said it was like a healthy soup dupe of one of our favorites. I think we’re in full-on soup season right now and I haven’t made enough soups, so this one’s being made pronto.

2 – From around the web

The final season of my beloved “Schitt’s Creek” started this week and I’m simultaneously excited and devastated. Here are a handful of reads to get you excited about it too:

3 – Instagram account to follow

Do you ever glance at an IG account and find it really intriguing but for whatever reason you don’t give it a follow, yet you find yourself checking it out repeatedly and continue to find it interesting and then you finally decide to follow it, something you should have done a long time ago? Ya I don’t know why I do that! I should have followed Chooseloveart a long time ago. Not only does she have great holistic living content but her weekly “WildLipWednesday” feature out of control. That alone makes it worth popping over to her account. She’s a master lip artist, for reals. So talented!

4 – New item I’m loving

I made fruit salad for my gal’s b-day party last weekend and while it might seems like an unnecessary gadget, this grape cutter saved me a TON of time. Plus it’s fun to use too haha.

5 – What baby is loving

She is loving a million things right now. It’s like love overload with new presents and things to explore from the holidays. However, she LOVES giant stuffed animals and we have no room for the 5 foot Costco bear so we settled on this rabbit from Target which is larger than she is and she’s in love. The joy it brings her is the best! It’s not the greenest toy out there but the tag did say it was made with recycled polyester so that’s something.

6 – A green tip

I am so sad to read about what is happening in Australia right now. I really don’t have much mental capacity to read in detail about how devastating it is currenlty, but I know it is and I know they need help. I saw one picture of an injured Koala bear and I’m like take my money. But in all seriousness, if you’re interested in donating to help the wildlife here is a good list of organizations in need. There is even info on adopting a Koala bear to help! That might seem like a small gesture to help only one, but every little bit helps I’m sure.

7 – What I’m eating this week:

I’ve been eating leftover birthday cake. I went way off the rails on my normal eating over the holidays and this cake sure it’s helping me get back on track. Sue me. It’s good cake. Whole Foods bakery knows whats up. Pro tip: get the Chantilly Cake if you’re having a craving.

And that’s a wrap on the week ending 1.12.20. Ciao for now!
